About

Hi there, thanks for dropping by. This is me, Deborah L. Alten. Foremost, I'm a born again believer; A Christ Follower, or Jesus Girl. I like the latter. I'm also a caregiver and published author. Once in a while I find the time to help writers achieve their publishing goals.

In any case, I started this blog to keep myself accountable to write at least 500 words a day. You see, in 2017 I became a full time caregiver for both my mom and dad. Happy to do it. However, this changed a few things, mainly, no time to write.

Actually, who's really got time to write, right? We are mothers, fathers, some of us work full time, part time, we do ministry, we cook, we clean, who's got time?

As I write these chapters I'll also try to earn a living from this blog. I can't get away from it since Mom, Dad, and I are basically doing life in and from our home. It's a comfy home so we're not complaining ... much. Check out my other blog, The Caregiver's Devotional, for more on that fun stuff.

I must include my full disclosure, and you'll find it right here. All that legal jargon that makes yer head spin.

About the Book. Tentative title: Serendipity. A Christian romance fantasy with some fairy tale elements. It's fast-paced, fun, and will give the reader an understanding of what and why God says to wait ... wait for love, wait for success, wait for His best. And that we all have "trash" in our lives that Jesus want to turn into treasure.

The Invitation: I'm inviting you, the reader, along on this journey with single mom, Bethany Chambers, who inherits a lot of junk. But junk is in the eyes of the beholder. She also inherits a ton of acreage lovingly named "Bethany's Groves" in the dry hot desert of SoCal.

Bethany, better known as Beth, meets a dashing young mechanic who ... seriously, you didn't think he was just a mechanic, right? Though there's nothing wrong with being a mechanic. Most of the time I need one.

We're in the early chapters where Beth is still figuring out what's she's inherited and trying very hard to appreciate what Grandpa called, Trash-ures.

See you on the pages of "Bethany's Groves" or as we call it, Serendipity.
